We are trying to make knowledge-base for resolving OptionsOracle related issues. Kindly see following for solving common issues:
1. Requested symbol ("NIFTY") was not as symbol or company-name.
Most likely "Online Servers & Stock Exchange Selection" is not configured. Click on Config -> General and select correct plugin under "Online Servers & Stock Exchange Selection" as shown below:
If this doesn't resolves, then check if in IE, you are able to reach www.nseindia.com. In few cases, system may require service pack updates.
Make sure your Dot Net Framework 4.5 or 4.6 is installed. Try installing/reinstalling.
Make sure your Internet is up and you are able to browse www.nseindia.com using Internet Explorer (don't try using Chrome or Mozilla, etc)
Make sure you have latest Windows Updates and are able to update windows without any issue.
Make sure end-point protection is not blocking OptionsOracle, else add it to exclusion list.
2. It is downloading .json file.
You need to delete .json extension settings from registry. Make sure to do backup of registry before updating/deleting registry keys.
3. While starting OptionsOracle, it takes longer time.
Most likely you have earlier older version of OptionsOracle.
Go to %appdata% and delete OptionsOracle.
Now Uninstall OptionsOracle using Control Panel.
Install latest version of OptionsOracle.
4. Clicking on Template button doesn't show any templates in drop down menu.
Most likely you have earlier older version of OptionsOracle.
Go to %appdata% and delete OptionsOracle.
Now Uninstall OptionsOracle using Control Panel.
Install latest version of OptionsOracle.
5. OptionsOracle screen layout are not correct.
Most likely you have used magnified settings in Windows Display setting. Kindly disable it and try.
5. If you are using Windows 7?
Make sure to install latest version of dotnet framework 4.5.2 or higher.
The "getting started" guide v1.41 shows on pg 10 an "Add Strategy" button below the "strategy positions" pane. Supposedly there would be preconfigured strategies (bull put etc) in some *.ops file(s). But none of that is in the installed version ; was this deprecated by any chance? Thank you very much for this forum btw

DeleteAlso, the "Template" button raises a dialog "select strategy", and it was devoid of any precofigured items. Now it is full of them! I believe I installed the "india plug in" after the original installation, perhaps that is the answer?
